Goodreads Summery:
You would think after helping save her boyfriend from an eternity in Hell that things would go back to normal. Well, as normal as life can be when you can see souls and your boyfriend is Death. But for Pagan Moore, things are just getting weirder.
The high school quarterback and reigning heartthrob, Leif Montgomery, is missing. While the town is in a frenzy of worry, Pagan is a nervous wreck for other reasons. Apparently good ‘ol Leif isn’t your average teenage boy. He isn’t even human. According to Death, Leif doesn’t have a soul. The quarterback may have skipped town but he’s still showing up in Pagan’s dreams... uninvited.
Dank has known from the beginning Leif wasn’t human. But he hadn’t worried about a simple soulless creature. Now, he realizes he made a grave mistake. Pagan’s soul has been marked since birth as a restitution, to a spirit so dark not even Death walks near it. Dank knows saving Pagan’s soul won’t be easy but Pagan is his. And he’s already proven he’ll defy Heaven to keep her. If Hell wants a piece of him too, then bring it on.
My Review:
Now the second book it is crazy because of all these dreams Pagan has been having that Leif has sent so he can have her. Leif in this book is creepy from showing up randomly around her and watching her. Then he brings her gifts for Valentines day, Dude get the message she does not like you. He also kidnaps her so he can talk to her. Overall he is just creepy. Her past has also been revealed. The link between Pagan and Leif is that he believes she belongs to him because his father(king of Voodoo) saved her life when she was dying of leukemia. Also in dreams Leif is the boy who has helped her throughout the last 15 years. I feel bad for Pagan because of everything she has to go through With Creepy, Soulless Leif, her love for Death and balancing her school life with her personal life. This book really shows the changes in the relationship between Dank and Pagan and how it has evolved from the first book and the changes in her friendship with Gee. I liked there was the twist of having voodoo in the story that actually took place in New Orleans and the King of Voodoo. So it was really sad when Wyatt died and that really messed up Pagan. Once again though Abbi Glines gives us a huge cliffhanger and leaves us wanting to be the next book immediately. I really enjoyed this book and I rated it 5 out of 5.
